The design is inspired by a geometric structure called “Muqarnas,” which is a form of ornamented vaulting in Islamic architecture that produces infinite geometric patterns. A contemporary example of the Muqarnas can be seen in the dome of the Museums of Islamic Arts in Qatar. The Mijmara is designed through a 3D tessellation of a truncated tetrahedron.
