The Biomechanics of a Football Kick

The design approach envisions a branded booth that embodies the visual identity of the Supreme Committee for Delivery and Legacy through an abstract interpretation of a football kick in motion. Given the biomechanical complexity of this movement, the concept focuses on the primary contributors to force and balance: the legs and pelvis.

The study of the football kick was translated into triangular geometries derived from SC’s visual patterns. Human movement was simplified by a network of interconnected lines, organized through a preplanned system which generates scalene triangles and produces a structurally expressive composition that captures motion in an energetic form.

The Instep Kick

The football player movement in the instep kick can be divided into three phases: back swing, ball contact, and follow through.

Abstracted Motion

The booth’s design focuses on the ball-contact phase, which in this context signifies the interaction and engagement with the audience. The whole booth is inclined to one side, which embodies the inclination of the football player through the instep kick to maintain balance.

Brand Colors

The booth’s form is enhanced by a bold contrast of brand gradient colors. The exterior gradient, transitioning between orange and purple, contrasts with the interior blue spectrum, creating a vibrant and immersive hub.

Brand Patterns

The booth integrates two of SC’s primary triangular patterns to complement the structure’s angular geometry. The selected patterns enhance visual continuity and strengthen brand recognition.
